Things I Like To Do
|
I am a humanities person. I really enjoy reading and writing, and I make sure to take my time to enjoy these hobbies. On a typical winter, spring, or summer break from school, I read an average of four novels for enrichment. Also, Charter Oak High School's journalism class is my outlet for sports writing, and as the sports editor, I feel like I am able to achieve my goal of making a small difference within my community through my writing.
I also do a substantial amount of volunteer work. I enjoy doing arts and crafts with foster children and organizing benefit fundraisers for the less fortunate. At present I am involved with a club called "Sharing Our Humanity" on campus and I have been elected the head of the campus fundraiser to raise money for children in Cambodia. I organized the "penny war," which brought in more than two-thousand dollars for the Grady Grossman school in Cambodia.
